With graduation season approaching, I thought this would be the perfect time to post some of our favorite grad dresses this year! I have included the links in the pictures, so if you love the dress, click the picture and it shows you exactly where you can get it!
I am not going to lie, I kind of have an obsession with decorative throw pillows. They instantly make me happy when I see them all beautifully lined up in a store. There are so many glorious options to choose from. Pillows are a great way to add pops of color and texture to a room. It is a great way to mix things up! For some magical reason, you can put just about any color of pillows together and somehow they just work together! Which allows you to tie in those same colors through out the room. Things don't have to be "matchy-matchy." They just need to reflect who you are and what you love. Step a little bit outside of your comfort zone and pick some crazy colors and textures. I promise that in the end you will have something amazing! One of this Spring and Summer's biggest trend are bold prints. My favorite print are Palm Trees or Palm Leaf prints. It is a bolder take on the normal floral print. There is something about Palm Trees that is very calming and makes you feel like you are on a remote island sipping on some coconut water. There are so many options out there with this print. Whether its a dress, bikini, jumpsuit, sandals or handbags there are many ways to incorporate it into your wardrobe. Below I have photos to help inspire you to mix this print into your everyday look.
The Shift Dress originally became a huge trend in the 1960's. It was the "it girl" dress. Shift dresses have come back into the scene in a big way this year! They are taking over and we are not mad about it. They are so feminine and girly. Shift dresses are a great way to dress up but still feel comfortable because the dress is not hugging you. It gives you room to move. This dress looks great on anyone! Take the chance, buy a shift dress and channel your inner Twiggy!
There are not many people who want go "full glam" and have a full coverage, false lash and all makeup look on a day to day basis. Sometimes you just want an easy everyday routine that takes five minutes or less so you can get on with your day but still look awake and put together! Below I have listed a few of my "must have" beauty products for a five minute or less makeup look.
Powder Foundation : On quick mornings, I can't be bothered with using a liquid foundation. Powder foundations are a quick and easy way to add some coverage and give a natural, flawless appearance that is easy to blend. Two of my favorites areUrban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation and Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation.
Concealer Stick : Just like I said above, on busy morning I don't want to fuss with liquid products. Concealer Sticks are quick and very blendable. They provide great coverage and last all day long. Blush/Bronzer Duo : You may not think having this two in one would make much of a difference but it definitely does! One of my favorite drugstore duos is buyELF and get this, only $3! You can't beat that! Brow Gel : Brows are still important on any day! Filled in brows make such a huge difference! But it can also be one of the most time consuming tasks in your makeup routine. Benefits Gimme Brow is a life saver! It is a tinted brow gel with little fibers to help thicken and fill in your brows at the same time. A couple of swipes and your brows are perfect and stay in place all day! Paint Pots/Color Tattoos : Cream eye shadows are my "go to" products for days like these. I usually go for a champagne color to just bring light and shine to the lid. This will make you look more awake and put together. I can never have a bare lid! The best part of these is they are smudge proof and have amazing lasting power! Mascara : This is pretty self explanatory. Most girls can not put on makeup and not have mascara on. It is a must! Lights Camera Splashes is one of the best mascaras on the market! It lengthens and adds volume and it is also waterproof (aka smudge proof!) Tinted Lip Balm : These are the best for days when you don't need too much makeup whether you are just getting some work done, running errands, or just hanging out with friends. It adds a hint of color and is easy to wear because you don't have to fuss with it like a lip liner/lipstick combo. Throw it in your purse and reapply as needed!
There are so many amazing websites out there that help you create, enhance and grow your blog.
Here are some of my favorites that I believe every blogger should use!
For any blog that I create, I always use weebly. It is such a great tool to help create your blog when just starting out. Once your blog has grown enough you can purchase your own domain, but I believe when starting out it is best to create your blog through weebly for free until you know how it is going to do. Weebly is such an easy site to use. It contains drag and drop features. You can also edit HTML to insert or change something that they do not have the option to on the site. Alot of blogging sites require you to know how to code (yikes!). If you are like me and just want simple and straight forward but still customizable, then this is the perfect outlet to create your blog!
Mail Chimp is an amazing email marketing tool. A great way to keep your readers coming back is through weekly newsletters! Mail Chimp allows you to create subscriber lists and create a form that is on your website to allow your readers to subscribe to your list. Through Mail Chimp you then create campaigns (i.e. Newsletters) to send out to your list. It then tracks hows many people have opened your newsletter so you can keep track of how effective your newsletters are.
This tool is also used with Email Marketing. Hello Bar is where you create different forms for your subscriber lists. These give your readers a space to enter their email to subscribe to your list. There are many different types you can use. The main two forms are pop up forms that pop up when someone comes to your site. The other is a thin bar at the top of your website. The great thing about this site is it links directly to your Mail Chimp account! So Easy!
Pic Monkey is by far my favorite photo editing tool. It allows you to crop, re size, change brightness, add filters, add overlays, text and so much more. I use this for almost all of my title photos. You can create collages through Pic Monkey as well. Below I have a Before and After of how I use Pic Monkey.
I can not recommend Pinterest enough for blogging! It is my main source of traffic and it is a genius blogging tool. I allows you to pin your blogs photos and link the photo directly to your website so that every time someone clicks on the photo it links them to that specific blogpost. Pinterest allows you to create a "pin it button" allowing readers to pin photos directly from your website. Pinterest also has an analytics section where you can track how many times your pins have been pinned.
Graphic Tees have made a huge comeback in the past few years. They are a great form of simple self expression. You can take a graphic tee and pair it with jeans and chucks for a casual and comfy approach or you can tuck it into a skirt with some pumps for a dressed up look. Want to create your own graphic tee? Print your words onto Iron On Transfer Paper, available at any craft store. Lay the paper on the t shirt and apply light pressure with your iron. Peel off and you are done!
In honor of the beginning of Coachella this past weekend. I thought I would give a little inspiration post inspired by music festival fashion that will be showing up a lot in the coming spring and summer months. One of my favorite shops to find amazing festive pieces is Planet Blue. They carry some of the best brands worn by many celebrities such as Jen's Pirate Booty, Tigerlilly, One Teaspoon, Free People and many more! Below are a few pictures for inspiration as well as some of my favorite outfits from Planet Blue.
The Mixed Print trend is one of the hardest ones for me to put into my wardrobe. I feel like our whole lives we have been told to always match! I am pretty sure at one point we were all matching our earrings, handbag, shirt and shoes all of the same color. (Horrible. I know!) But now, it is time to take all of those rules and throw them out the window. Mixing prints takes your look to a whole new level. You can take your "everyday women" wardrobe and make it extremely high fashion in seconds by simply mixing it up! Take an hour or two out of your day and go through your closet and try to style a few outfits. It is time to experiment with your look and step a little bit outside of your comfort zone. You will create many new looks and it is a great way to recycle your wardrobe. There are endless options!
Braids have been my "go to" hairstyle lately. I am obsessed! They are perfect for days when your hair isn't quite working with you the way you want! Some people believe braids are way too hard and time consuming but practice makes perfect. Once you get the few types of braids down, you can create any look in a flash! One big tip is the messier the better! Pulling at your braid a little to loosen it up will create that beautiful bohemian look. It will look so effortless. A lot of the braids seen below are just plain three strand braids but the way they are placed makes the looks so unique. You don't need to be an expert to create these looks. Just take an afternoon to play around with your hair a bit and in no time you find your look that you will constantly go to. |
